Nightwish (The New Era)

"Made In Hong Kong (And In Various Other Places)" is the most recent CD/DVD from NIGHTWISH. It has entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 15. It also opened at No. 2 in Finland and dropped down to No. 5 in its second week of release.

Released on March 13 via Nuclear Blast Records, "Made In Hong Kong (And In Various Other Places)" contains a DVD documentary (with a running time of approximately 45 minutes) of NIGHTWISH's world tour in support of the band's latest album, "Dark Passion Play", as well as a CD featuring live recordings from the trek. The documentary footage was directed by Ville Lipiäinen.

NIGHTWISH ended their massive Dark Passion Play World-tour on saturday evening at Hartwall Arena, Helsinki, Finland. As the show ended and the band bowed to the audience, a song "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" by Michael Nyman was played in the background. The song was recorded by Nightwish but it will never be released on any album.

"We didn't get the permit from the original composer to release the song cause he didn't like our version of it.", Tuomas Holopainen said on an interview he gave to lordsofmetal.nl

The song was one of the first songs the band recorded after Anette Olzon joined Nightwish.

Nightwish will take a long break now and their new album will be released sometime during 2011. During this time each member of Nightwish will work on their own projects. According to Anette Olzon she will release a solo album at some point during the break.

Anette a cantat walking in the air. Asta e inmormantarea oficiala NW. Felul in care a distrus piesa aceea e sub orice critica. Efectiv. Ingrozitor. O urasc, cateodata.

Mai nu stiu, mie nu mi se pare ca a distrus piesa chiar atat de rau... Adica, genul asta de melodie mai lenta parca i se potriveste mai mult decat altele de genul Wishmaster, Nemo, etc..
Hmm.. rectific, imi place doar la partile cand canta mai bland, cu o voce mai dulce, la ~1:25 incepe sa urle si nu mai imi place.

Mie mi se pare ca vocea ei este foarte nepotrivita pentru genul ala de cantec, unde e necesara o voce mai puternica si mult mai melodioasa, nu ca a ei, si care sa poate sa se ridice pana la mai mult de jumatate de octava. Mie nu mi-a placut DELOC.

Amaranth (Nightwish) a fost aleasa drept piesa ce va figura in introducerea fiecarui episod din serialul german Insignium - Im Zeichen Des Kreuzes (Insignia - Under The Sign Of The Cross)

Serialul va avea premiera in Ianuarie 2010 si este povestea lui Santedella Vigna, un procuror special trimis la Vatican. In rolul principal joaca Dietmar Wunder care a dublat vocea lui Daniel Craig pentru varianta germana a celor mai recente filme din seria James Bond.

NIGHTWISH's "Amaranth" single, which was issued in 2007 as a mini-CD via Nuclear Blast Records , is now available as a flower-fragrance-shaped picture disc vinyl via Night Of The Vinyl Dead. The hand-numbered edition is limited to 500 copies and features the song "While Your Lips Are Still Red" on "Side Flower" and the single title track on "Side Band".

"While Your Lips Are Still Red" was written by NIGHTWISH leader/keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen as the main theme for the Finnish feature film "Lieksa!" which premiered in Finland in September 2007. The song features NIGHTWISH bassist/vocalist Marco Hietala on vocals, Tuomas on keys and NIGHTWISH's Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen on drums.

The movie "Lieksa!" was directed and written by renowned Finnish movie director Markku Pölönen.

Management has informed BraveWords.com that while there will be no new album until September of 2011, there are developments within the NIGHTWISH camp. Mainman Tuomas Holopainen is currently writing the follow-up to 2007's Dark Passion Play which featured new singer Anette Olzon. The band will get together in July to record a demo of the ideas Holopainen has come up with. After that, he will live with the music, to determine if it just needs tinkering, or additional pieces must be created.

Currently the band is investigating the possibility of starting the next world tour in Los Angeles. Plans would call for a one-off North American exclusive at the 6,000 seat auditorium within the Universal Amphitheater. This venue would allow Nightwish to bring pyro and the full production to North America for the first time. A full continental tour would commence three-four months later, tentatively billed as late 2011, or early 2012.

Anette´s pregnancy doesn´t change anything in the band

The surprise pregnancy of Anette Olzon doesn't change the plans in Nightwish. They will start recording their new album in the fall nevertheless. Anette Olzon dropped a newsbomb by telling she was pregnant. She already has a son. This pregnancy however came to a good time since Nightwish is on a break.

Since Nightwish starts the recordings to their Dark Passion Play follower in the fall, Anette has given birth before that so nothing will be jeopardized.

"Anette's pregnancy doesn't alter our plans in any way. Having a baby is a happy thing afterall", says Nightwish's manager Ewo Pohjola.

Anette isn't the only one in Nightwish who has children since both Jukka Nevalainen and Marco Hietala has children as well.

"Other members have children too so the situation isn't actually new in any way. Besides Marco's twinsons were just born when we start our tour so...", says Ewo Pohjola.

Nightwish is planning to release their follower to Dark Passion Play at the end of 2011. By that time Anette's child won't be an infant anymore.

prima data as fi vrut sa spun ceva legat de cel din buza, dar e discret, bine plasat, si nu o impiedica sa cante.
maria, nu e prima metalista care isi face piercing. daca tarja si-ar face, cu siguranta ai reactiona ceva de genul: "ouai ce tare, si eu voiam sa imi fac exact in locul ala, dar deocamdata nu ma lasa mama."
