British actress Keira Knightley gives us her signature pout as she graces the cover of Elle UK for their March 2011 issue.

Keira has also been selected to model Tom Ford’s first womenswear collection for six years, so it’s no surprise that she’s wearing pieces from his much-coveted debut women’s collection in the editorial.

It will be very interesting to see Keira wearing Tom Ford on the red carpet whilst promoting her new movie, “Never Let Me Go” which is out February 11th.

In her exclusive interview with Elle, Keira talks about the power of fashion and her own personal style.

Here are some extracts.

On her Chanel campaign: “There’s something about the story of the woman, the survivor nature of her. And that personality has continued within the whole house. It’s a very small group of people who do this enormous, huge, worldwide thing. I just thought, “Ooh, I’d quite like to look into your world.” You walk into the ateliers and it’s nearly like stepping back in time, even though it’s so modern and so current. The skill and the thought that goes into everything. I find it really interesting.”

On the most expensive thing she’s ever bought: “A pale sheepskin coat from Burberry. ‘My mum was like, “You cannot spend that amount of money on a coat”, and I was like, “No, you’re right I can’t, I can’t.” And then literally it was months, months of thinking about it and thinking, “I’m not going to do it, I’m not going to do it.” But then she said, “Right, if you’re going to buy it, you have to wear it all the time.” So I wore it every day last year and I’m going to wear it every day this year.”

On managing her workload: “I was literally going from job to job to job to job and any time off in between was promoting a job, or preparing for the next job. And it was exactly what I thought I wanted at the time and then I realised that I’d sort of hit a brick wall. I knew I wasn’t taking anything in. There’s this strange thing where I feel incredibly privileged and I think I have an incredible amount of guilt about that. And so I thought I had to work all the time.”

My best dressed star of last week, Diane Kruger is the cover girl for the March 2011 edition of Glamour US.

Her editorial shot by Ellen von Unwerth sees her in a more relaxed vibe sporting a faux hawk and wearing looks from Balmain, Isabel Marant, Band of Outsiders, Giambattista Valli, Stella McCartney, Theyskens’ Theory and of course there is some Chanel in there too.

In her interview she discuss her views on marriage, saying that her past experiences have taught her that tying the knot isn’t in her future – bad news for Joshua Jackson.

She also talks about her love of fashion and her biggest fashion splurge.

Here are some extracts:

On her love of fashion: “I truly, genuinely like clothes. Making them is an art form, and wearing them is a form of self-expression. I find it very emotional because I can remember moments in my life—my mood, how I felt—through these clothes.”

On what her favorite look is: “A well-cut dress. It’s all about the cut. I love three-quarter sleeves. I definitely like it classic; less is more. The thing I despise most is vulgarity, and there’s a lot of that here [in L.A.].”

On her biggest fashion splurge: “The biggest fashion purchase I ever made I thought about for six years. I’m not kidding. All my life I wanted to own an Hermès Constance bag, and when I signed with Calvin Klein, I decided this was the time that I could afford it. I truly broke a sweat when I paid for it.”

On her boyfriend Joshua Jackson and his style: “We go shopping. But he likes it. I definitely wasn’t fond of these blue sneakers that he wore all the time for about a year and a half.”

On realizing she wanted to pursue performing as a career: “I’m from a small village [in Germany], and it never occurred to me that you could actually make a living performing. It was a hobby. I always thought you had to live in Hollywood. So the urge really came later, when I became a model.”

On marrying and divorcing when she was younger: “Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don’t believe in marriage. I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There’s no paper that will make you stay.”

Her advice to young women pursuing their dreams: “Ask questions. Surround yourself with people who will help you advance. You should be smart enough to know that you don’t know everything. But you have to believe in yourself. I certainly do.”

Inside we see the Australian actress channeling boho chic wearing an Alberta Ferretti maxi dress from the Spring 2011 collection.

She talks candidly about her ‘lost years’ and happiness, busting Hollywood myths and finding love in Tennessee.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On Botox: “Well, I move my forehead, I frown…I tried it, I didn’t like it, so I’ve gone back to my own forehead. But I’ve never had plastic surgery on my face. People say I have but I haven’t.”

On her marriage with Tom Cruise: “As a couple we were very private. We were not out a lot and we were very, very tight and that’s why we lasted ten years, which is a good amount of time, particularly when you get married at 23. I was never seeking to be a celebrity. But I was prepared to do that for love. And that is something that is hard to do. It’s hard when you’re young. But I’m ready to give up anything for love because, ultimately, that is what you have. You get so much from a relationship when it is filled with love.”

On life after divorce and Keith: “Oh yeah, I was really damaged and not sure whether that was ever going to happen again to me. I certainly never thought I’d have a baby at 41. But we never know what’s around the corner. What, I enquire, was the difference with Keith? Well, I found my soulmate, and I don’t throw that term around lightly. I found the person that I just love being with. We’re both… it’s awkward to say it because it lessens what it is if I try to trivialise our relationship… He is very important to me.”

On her near death experience: “About five years ago when the helicopter I was travelling in dropped out of the skies because the engine stopped and everyone was screaming and I became unbelievably calm. The pilot panicked, people panicked, but I just went, “OK, this is what’s going to be. Please don’t make it too painful.”’ The pilot landed safely but, apart from being ‘grateful to be walking this earth’, the ordeal was an awakening. ‘Maybe it was the shock that made me so calm, but I love it when I surprise myself and see what I’m made of. I suppose that’s what I call discovering who I am.”

Aishwarya Rai – one of the most beautiful women in the world – graces the cover of Vogue India’s February 2011 issue wearing Roksanda Ilincic.

The bold shouldered feathered blazer may be from past seasons, but it makes a huge impact on this cover.

The Bollywood beauty also wears a red Jenny Packham gown and a Valentino dress in her editorial.

Mickey Contractor on Aishwarya Rai: “When I first met Aishwarya on the shoot of a talcum powder commercial, she was shocked by my language (I used to abuse a lot). She kept giggling on the set. She told me later that she wondered what kind of weirdo I was. I then worked with her on her first film, Aur Pyar Ho Gaya, and on several ad campaigns thereafter. She carries off every look I create for her. She is daring, adaptable and confident of the way she looks. She is a natural beauty. When god was distributing good looks, the rest of us must have been in the loom because she got it all.”
